A traditional fishing village located on the southern end of the Lofoten archipelago in Norway.  The images captured by Jermoe Galland showcase the rare an unspoiled beauty of the municipality's majestic mountains, deep fjords, squawking seabird colonies and long, surf-swept beaches
About the Artist:
Jérôme Galland is a French photographer born in 1969. He grew up around Chartres and began to travel with his parents at a very early age. In 1983, at 14 years old,
he visited the Lofoten Islands for the first time, a trip that would make an everlasting impression and a destination to which he would return every 10 years. After college,
he moved to Paris and signed up at Les Gobelins, a leading visual arts school.
Between 1989 and 1991, he worked at Publimod, a photographic laboratory dedicated to black and white. He then joined the Louvre Museum, where he produced photographs of the artworks until 2000. Then the desire to travel came back...
Taking advantage of an opportunity to mix business with pleasure, Jérôme began to work with newspapers on photo essays. Now a renowned photographer, he regularly contributes to magazines including AD, Air France Magazine, Elle Décoration and Marie Claire Maison.
Passionate about travel and the Far North, the Lofoten Islands were an obvious choice for Jérôme Galland's Portraits de Villes.
