GM, RETAIL OPERATIONS
The GM will execute & develop Retail Management Strategy for Broome St. General Store Brick & Mortar locations and report directly to our CEO. You will oversee all aspects of Retail Operations (Front-of-House and Back Office) balancing premium customer service with profitability. Front of House Operations
Daily Management of Employees & Contractors | Leads by example, providing direct customer service, mentoring/training and staff planning
- Direct Management of Team Leader(s) and Oversee all Retail Employees
- Responsible for HR, Recruiting, Development & Performance Management
- Build and direct a cohesive team of individuals with a strong work ethic, common sense and integrity
- Manage all Contractors & Agencies for Retail Projects
- Manage relationships with vendors, designers and key brands
A focus on the customer, providing an end-to-end experience that is Natural, Sophisticated & Intriguing
- Maintain and create retail environments that foster a refined yet inviting atmosphere; where our team and customers alike are inspired
- Build rapport & establish relationships with customers rooted in warmth & sincerity
- Deliver premium value to the customer through exemplary service that is individualized and anticipates needs
- Create & implement process for “Clientele-ing” and manage Customer Database
- End-to-End management of digital and direct marketing campaigns
- Plan and execute email marketing, social media and promotional calendars, ensuring these support brand and sales objectives
- Spearhead special event production and manage associated ROI
Manage all aspects of Retail Inventory Management, Purchasing & Receiving
- Analyze Monthly Sales Performance for Retail and Café, work closely with Bookkeeper to deliver monthly P&L by Department
- Manage monthly Retail & Café Operating Budget
- Develop strategies for driving key metrics and growth
- Direct, manage & hone current Retail Processes focused on the customer experience, while driving profitability
- Provide expertise on current Retail industry best practices and propose new operational, sales, marketing and technology initiatives
- Oversee all POS & Software integrations and updates, research & launch technologies and ensure IT is optimized across all functionalities
- Support all activities related to ecommerce (data collection, inventory management, POS/software integration, promotion & marketing, etc.)
- Coordinate all orders sent to Retail Locations for fulfillment.
- Manage pick-up of ecommerce orders, returns & customer service needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree preferred
- 3 years minimum experience in a managerial role with direct reports (in a customer service business is preferred)
- An Entrepreneurial Mindset with an extra dose of Integrity and Common Sense
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- A track record of driving results
- An interest in travel, coffee and/or design
- The flexibility to work in an owner’s role, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays and thrive in a fast-paced, diverse and challenging work environment
- The humility to work in an owner’s role, which may include long days of work/travel and honestly, having to maintain the toilet in some capacity
- Is conscientious, dependable, motivated and takes pride in their work
- Displays a strong work ethic, positive attitude and integrity
- Thinks strategically with the ability to multi-task and prioritize business initiatives
- Has a strong attention to detail balanced with “big picture thinking”
- Receives and delivers feedback constructively
- Has excellent organization and communication skills
